The People Of Black Widow

Mark and Karen both have a passion for the outback and adventure and love to camp and fish and spend quality family time with their 2 sons. In the mid 1990's, they designed and fabricated a storage system for the back of their 4WD to assist in managing the equipment they seemed to always need to carry around for those off-road adventures. 10 years later, and 20,000 storage systems on, Black Widow has become the market leader in innovative vehicle storage solutions. Sons Hayden and Jason are both integral members of the Black Widow Team.

Mark and Karen still love traveling our great country in their 100 series Toyota. They would be delighted to meet you in their travels or in person at one of the many Trade, Caravan and Camping shows that they attend.

Mandy has 20 years experience in the financial services industry with one of Australia's leading Banks where she held a number of senior positions in Corporate Finance. In particular, Mandy is utilising her expertise gained in business development and strategic management to further position Black Widow as market leader in the delivery of quality product, and excellence in service.

Passions are the great outdoors and her Ford cougar.

Jason has a Bachelor of Business, and is currently completing his MBA. He has also completed courses in Welding, Auto CAD and SQL Databases. Jason's diverse background holds him in high esteem with the Black Widow staff. His constant strive to improve the efficient running of the factory are only offset by his passion for Fishing, Boozin and cruisin with the Black Widow Boys, and of course footy (Go the Doggie's).

Tash has a Cert II in small business and Cert II in business Administration. Chances are when you call or visit, Tash will be your first point of contact at Black Widow. Her attention to detail and pleasant personality are one of our greatest assets in ensuring customer satisfaction.

Tash loves her swag, camping and the ever popular Ute musters. She owns and drives a fully customized VS commodore Ute

Des is a qualified Vehicle body building, a Diploma of rehab engineering, and is a qualified welder. Des worked for Penzoil in Texas then moved to ARB in Sydney. Des brings an enthusiasm like no other to sales and has an excellent rapport with all our Dealers. Des constantly states "I work for the best drawer builders in the world... Black Widow".

Hayden runs the assembly section, co-ordinating work, quality inspection and production scheduling. He also does all our in house Auto Cad drawings for our CNC machinery.

He has his diploma in Engineering Drafting and Cert III in welding and sheet metal.

In his spare time you will usually find him working on his beloved GU and MQ Patrol tray backs, going to Ute musters and 4 Wheel driving.

John has worked for over 15 years in jewellery design, diamond cutting and design and has a very high attention to detail. He also worked for 8 years as a Machine operator at Smorgan Steel.

His passion is his painting and drawing and he is one of Australia’s top free-hand artist and painters.

Luke is a q ualified mechanic and keen welder. He loves anything to do with cars and has fabricated most of his own accessories on his GQ shorty Patrol.

Marty has been involved in motor mechanics for many years and then moved on to timber frame trussing. his attention to detail has made him a welcome addition to the Black Widow Team. Hobbies include playing in a band, motor mechanics on his VS commodore camping and fishing.

Gavin is a qualified boilermaker/welder. He has come on board as an experienced and senior bloke who has improved processes and procedures to ensure Black Widow only produce the highest quality products.

He has his boilermaker ticket, Cert II pressure vessel ticket and Cert 1 & 2 in automotive robotics.

Gavin loves his motorbikes, go-carts and hunting. He enjoys getting into the mud in his Ford Courier Dual Cab.

Mick is now in his second year of his apprentice ship at Black Widow. He started off as the nut and bolts sorter and floor sweeper, has done his time and now has become an important member of staff and is currently welding and fabricating.

Mick currently drives his BMX and mother crazy.

Prior to joing Black Widow, John ran his own panel beating shop for 6 years and is a qualified panel beater.

John enjoys restoring cars (especially his HQ Ute) and 4 Wheel driving in his FJ45 cruiser.

Sue ran her own cleaning business and is a passionate member of the Black Widow team. She loves keeping the boys on their toes and runs a tight ship in the packaging department. Sue loves getting out horse riding with her daughter.

Matt comes from a warehouse managing background with TCM Colour. He Is a qualified cabinet maker and a valued member of the team running Dispatch. Matt loves his 4 wheel driving, fishing and renovating his house.

Currently his pride and joy is his GU Patrol.

Ian is a welcome support to the sewing department. Ian is an active CFA volunteer and also SES. He was a company land manager and now really enjoys the challenges of both sewing, inovation and keeping Rona on her toes.

Ian loves shooting and camping.

Warren brings years of experience and passion to the Black Widow team. Warren is a qualified sheet metal fabricator and spent 8 years as a Quallity assurance manager for Jeffries Engineering and vast experience in powder coating. Warren jumped at the chance to become a builder for Black Widow due to his fastidious nature and passion for 4WD. Hobbies are Fishing, camping and trailbikes and of course going offroad in his GU Cab Chasis.

Rona is a qualified seamstress and has a creative flare when it comes to new storage ideas. With a wicked sense of humour, Rona has an incredible passion for her work and her teddy's. She is an active member of the Gisborne CFA.

Her 4 wheel Driving passion is limited to her Magna.
