Twin Drawer System (BW1000) with inbuilt heavy duty slide, shown here in a Landcruiser 200 series. Also shown optional cargo barrier & top shelf/divider combo. Twin Drawer SystemsTwin Drawer systems are by far the most popular choice in drawer system storage. It is widely excepted that a flat top twin drawer system, with or without a flush mounted fridge slide, offers the most storage capacity over any other configuration, both internally and externally. Black Widow has tested all configurations on many and varied duration trips, from weekends to extended trips of up to 4 months. Twin drawers also offer the most flexibility and are more user friendly when you are not on that trip away. Its about making the most of your storage selection when at home or away. The twin drawer system offers the most uninhibitive choice and ability to use and leave the storage system in the vehicle when you are not away. When at home doing normal activities such as shopping, going to the tip, buying a TV etc, the large flat floor the twin drawer system creates actually creates more room as it takes out and covers up the wheel arches. "But I have
trouble getting into the fridge
because its too high!" "We aren't towing
a camper or a van but we need
maximum storage !" We believe for safety and durability, the heavy duty flush mount fridge slide is the only way to go. It's also flush mounted and isn't in the way when you get home and resume normal activities. Sure it's a bit high to get to your fridge particularly if your 4WD is raised, or you have a large fridge but consider the following. Fridge usage. Very important to visualize your peak fridge activity to assess the level of inconvenience. Lets assume you are doing a Simpson Desert crossing. You are off on today's leg or you
have just left Birdsville or Mt Dare. Peak time - It's time to pull up camp, you have found a sheltered interdunal with lots of fire wood and it's time for a cold one. It's about 3 or 4 pm and you will be at this locality until you depart around 8 or 9 am in the morning, around 16-18 hours. The first thing that happens is the fridge becomes the focal piece of kit. That's where the cold drinks and the tucker is. It gets rolled out and that's where it stays until you go to bed or you get up in the morning and pull it out again to make your bacon and eggs. Access to the fridge is now easy because you have set up a collapsible stool or an up turned crate for easy constant access. It's a compromise, but effective and what's required to do these type of trips safely.
